I thought while I was still waiting for parts, that I would try to install the chordata_client add-on for Blender.
I downloaded the latest version of Blender (Currently 2.79, not counting a beta version of 2.8 which I did not install) and followed the instructions which claimed to be, one of the easiest parts of all the ones described in this guide.".
Following the instructions was easy. I went to File/User preferences. Then to the Add-ons tab. then to install Add-on from file. I navigated to the zip file I just downloaded from the webpage (chordata-Blender Client addon_v0-1-0b.zip) and hit enter. It took a few seconds to process this then went back to the Add-ons Screen. I assumed it was done, but when I closed that box, there was no Chordata tab on the side as shown in the next step. I repeated the process. No luck. I tried it on another computer that I already had Blender on. No luck. I closed Blender and opened it again. Nothing. What am I missing? I am rebooting the other computer and will try that after it comes back up, but the guide doesn't mention having to do any of these things. I hate it when I start something and get stuck on step#1. Please tell me what I am missing here. Thanks!
