I now have a fairly stable and complete BOM uploaded including only 2 Vendors, I had one where all the parts came from one place, but this one is only 2 and it will save money. I am still working with Digi-Key to get a manager to do what Wurth Electronics has done. Hopefully that will happen as it will make the process of purchasing all the parts SO much easier. Wurth has given us some very aggressive per-piece pricing on every part that they carry in the BOM for both the Hub, and the K-Ceptor cards. They also have assigned a go-to person for anyone who wants to place their orders using Wurth components. In the zip file, you will find an updated BOM (As of 5-22-19) including every essential part for building up the two boards. All the parts which are available from Wurth Electronics can be ordered at those reduced prices with one email. Just download the Wurth Electronics Purchase Order, Replace the address placeholders with your own information, change the quantities for whatever you want, and email it to the address listed on the Purchase order. They will do the rest. Make sure you include your phone number in the email, so they can call and get your payment info.
That takes care of half the parts with one email.
For the rest, there are links for each part, so you don't have to search for them at Digi-Key. Go to each link and add the part to your cart in whatever quantities you want, and place your order. Hopefully by the end of the day today, I will have the same arrangement with them as I do with Wurth and it will just be one more email which will save everyone a lot of time. Consolidating the orders like this saves time and money as you are only paying small shipping charges from only two places rather than 12. All the parts should arrive in just two groups and not spread out over time as much as well.
As soon as I get something set up with Digi-Key, where we have a Go-To person for these orders, I will add a Digi-Key Purchase Order to the zip file allowing you to use the same process there as with Wurth.
I am placing these files here in an effort to make the process more streamlined, quicker, cheaper, and with less chance of missing things when ordering. You don't have to use these forms. You are welcome to get your parts any way you like.
Wurth Electronics hopes that people will use the PO system and the form I listed, because if that's the way it's set up, when this project moved out of Beta and into the general public, they hope to get some good business from it. So using this method to order will help ensure that they stay committed to giving us the best pricing and service they can. Hopefully Digi-Key will see it the same way.
