This is a request for a 'hands-free' calibration solution for the Chordata-biped. The performer cannot self-calibrate the T pose and click the Calibrate button at the same time. Could a timer button be added to calibrate in 10 secs? That can give the performer a chance to get into the T pose. Like a camera timer.
Hands-free Calibration for Chordata_biped
Hey Teleman,
If you're working on a Mac, there is a work around for this that I've been using. If you go to System Preferences>Accessibility>Dictation>Open Dictation Preferences you can turn dictation on. Then, go back to the Dictation section in Accessibility and make sure you check Enable the dictation keyword phrase.
Then use a wireless mouse to click the button to make sure the plugin is receiving data, move the point off the button and go back into a T-Pose and say "Computer, press Return key". Sometimes it takes a few tries for the speech recognition to work, but once it does you should get out of calibrating and into being able to capture poses on the model.
Not sure if there's a similar option for Windows.
This feature was requested by @AxonSpark a long time ago, so I created a timed calibration operator to be included in the next Beta of the addon that will be released this week.
You will be able to find it under the Advanced
setting on the Armature node.
It will wait for some seconds before entering calibration mode.
The times are programmable with the sliders below the button.
Once it's out let us know how it works
PS: @AxonSpark this node is including several of your suggestions, like a smooth filter, and the root height
