Did I short my hub? Beta/ID Modules/Best practice?

Hi, I finally got to work on my Kit again and finished soldering.

However I might have done an mistake.
I tried connecting a 0 K-Ceptor to the J1 on the Hub in
dedicated power mode and now the Hub LED is off. Looked like it shorted something.. Maybe its only the LED? (Or am I in denial)

Running notochord with only the hub gives me:
error switching branch left retrying (4x)
Too many errors switching branch left
An error occured: Can't write to mux

Does this mean I destroy my hub? The wiki says this means it cant find the hub.
I obviously should have switched it on after connecting everything but I got excited..

Was I supposed to solder more resistances?
I just followed the instructions on the Beta testers guide. I didn't completely understand the ID board page tbh, but I thought these were already done (R5/R6) so I proceeded. Should have asked here before I guess..

Well maybe you will know where to add obvious clarifications, for dumbasses like me. Like : NEVER CONNECT OR DISCONNECT PARTS WHILE ITS RUNNING. or something similar.
Would it be possible to get a new hub in case I really fried mine? ..

Great to see you back around here!

If the led on your hub is off it means that the power is not reaching it. If you used a 5V power back it's very unlikely for it to be damaged. You didn't have to solder any more resistors. Why do you think it might be burned? did you smell something?

What about the Jumper in JP1? is it on the right position?

It is possible to plug on unplug KCeptors while the system is running. In fact it happens all the time, that's why we didn't add such messages.

have you gone thought the suggestions in this thread?

Yeah there was a small amount of smoke and a small noise as soon as I connected the KCeptor and the Hub LED stopped being lit shortly after. I didn't smell anything though.

The JP1 was on the side of the LED (like in the picture), and I was using an Apple Wall plug (5.1V 2A) to go into the micro USB Port of the hub, and a cable from the USB port to the Raspberry.
It was also the first time I used the wiring (without the yellow 3.3V one) I triple checked it before, at least it is correct on the Raspberry, I disconnected the hub since then.

I will check out the solutions in the thread and report back, thanks.

Edit: I didn't see it before, the solder of the GND pin on the Hub seems a bit damaged, I will try to re-solder and see if it fixes it.

Just re-soldered the Pins, and a new LED (long in round) And tried to put the enable both on pin 7 and 17 on the Raspberry.
The hub LED stays off and I can't detect a Hub.

In the configuration with the 3v3 rail from the Raspberry the LED works, I will check if it can find the Hub now.
EDIT : It works and I found all KCeptors! Phew, I really though I messed up real bad here.

I wonder what could be the cause of this though?
I don't have a multimeter at hand, will get one asap to see whats up. The Raspberry is powered just fine through the Hub, just the hub itself is somehow not working in that configuration. Maybe something is wrong with the JP1, but it looks normal.
