Blender version compatibility with the addon

Hello, I have downloaded the latest version of Blender (4.0.2) to run the Chordata Addon a arm64 macOS with one of the latest macOS versions (I will check the exact version later and post it here). It successfully installed the addon but Blender crashed every time I clicked connect. I couldn't see the error message, except for those very cryptic messages the macOS gives when a program crashes. I then downloaded the Blender version that was out when the latest Chordata version was released (Blender 3.4 from https://download.blender.org/release/ ) and it worked perfectly.
I know how hard it is to keep a software up to date to the ever changing OS versions, software versions, machine specs and so one, but it would at least be nice if you added to the documentation what is the latest Blender version you have the addon running smoothly.

I have just tried on my computer (2015 MacBook Air) running macOS 12.7.1 (Monterrey) and the Blender 3.0 crashed with the following message when I clicked connect on the addon module. The Chordata was sending the OSC well, I tried on Protokol and all the Quaternion data from one k-ceptor was arriving well (I made sure to disconnect from port 6565 before opening Blender).

I installed Blender 3.4.1 https://download.blender.org/release/Blender3.4/ and it managed to connect to a kCeptor on my 2015 MacBook Air OS X version 12.7.1

Hello Joao!

Glad to know you were able to have it working. We will add this information to the documentation. Unfortunately, being a multiplatform program, and given the fact that new versions are released so often it is indeed really hard for us to keep it stable in all the releases.

This adds up to the fact that the Blender Python API is inherently prone to segfaults, and there's a tradeoff between stability and performance. So if we want to make sure that there's no risk of such errors we should be checking the python references to internal Blender objects in a yet more redundant way. The fact that our add-on requires to update the scene in real time at 50Hz or more makes it specially complicated.

We are currently putting our efforts in completing the remote console, a browser based client that allows to manage and visualize the capture, and we plan to use it as the main client instead of the Blender addon.
