In the photos the black jumper on JP1
is positioned to select the onboard power supply, so even if you connect the 3v3 rail from the RPi you won't get any power.
Before plugging the complete setup et's try the RPi power source alone:
Start with the an unpowered RPi and Hub
- Unplug all wire jumpers but the Yellow and Grey ones (3v3 and GND respectively)
- Move the black plastic jumper on
JP1
to the lowermost position, as in this photo (the same you pasted before on the other thread). As you can see jumper connects the pins #2 and #3 from JP1
leaving the pin #1 unconnected.
- Power the raspberry.
At this point the led on the Hub should turn on.
If everything went well you can unplug the raspberry from power, connect all the jumper wires, power the raspberry and try the i2cdetect
test
